Before you enjoy camping Outside Walla Walla and other great places, here’s a beginner’s guide to get you ready.

Planning your Camping Trip

When people say I’m going camping, everyone imagines a different scene. That’s your first step of planning. What do you picture? List the details that you see.

  • Are you in the mountains, by a stream, swimming in a pond, and on?
  • What time of year?
  • Are there amenities at the campsite – showers with hot water? Swimming pool?
  • How many people are with you?
  • What are their age ranges?

After you think through those questions and answer them, that will help you decide when and where you want to go. Do some research about campsites in the area that you want to visit. Some campsites are more remote than others. Consider that in your decision about which campsite you choose.

Many campsites reach capacity during their busy seasons. Not all campsites are open all year. You are usually able to make reservations, which is recommended!
